Job Summary/Description:
WWSB ABC7 is seeking a full-time IT / Broadcast Engineer who would like to advance their career and help maintain our broadcast equipment and facilities in beautiful Sarasota Florida. A knowledge of station operations and technical layout is preferred, but we will train the right person on these systems. Our ideal candidate must first be a team player, be able to communicate effectively, be computer literate, and be willing to learn as well as share their knowledge with others. This position requires the ability to work with others to quickly identify key points of failure, and repair systems with minimal system down time. The use of sunscreen is recommended while outdoors, and the use of shark repellent as needed.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
--- Maintain and perform troubleshooting on IT and Broadcast hardware and software systems and equipment as needed.
--- Manage all IT and Engineering aspects of the technical facility including studio support, post editing systems, and field production support equipment.
--- Perform regular maintenance tasks including repairs, equipment installation and replacement, deploying and refreshing devices, and other projects as needed.
--- Help maintain our Help Desk tickets as required, to support all Departments.
--- Maintain equipment and support users for On Air and Live Production systems
Qualifications/Requirements:
--- Have knowledge regarding equipment, technology, and systems and be able to step in to assist in emergency situations.
--- Have a working knowledge of the latest operating systems software, including server and desktop operating systems.
--- Be available to work during severe weather, breaking news situations, and provide on call services.
--- Additional duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills & Ability -
--- IT Knowledge and understanding of VM Systems.
--- Able to troubleshoot computers and software.
--- Management of Windows Active Directory.
--- An associate degree in an engineering or IT related field.
--- Knowledge of professional video and audio equipment and techniques.
--- Professional, communicative, highly self-motivated, detail oriented.
--- Ability to work under potentially high-stress situations.
--- Must have a clean driving record and valid driver's license.
--- Physical Ability to lift 50 lbs.
