The Senior Friendship Centers has an opening for a Development Events Manager The Development Events Manager will plan, direct and be responsible for all development-related events for the purpose of raising funds, building awareness, and cultivating and stewarding our community of supporters. The Senior Friendship Center hosts a variety of donor events ranging from smaller gatherings to large annual fundraisers. This position will also manage the Corporate Partner and event sponsorship programs.The successful candidate will be a highly organized, strategic self-starter, and a hands-on problem solver, who is ready to hit the ground running to build and grow events and partnerships. Superior project management skills with the ability to set budgets, meet ambitious goals and manage multiple projects simultaneously are also required.The mission of the Senior Friendship Centers is to build vibrant communities by advancing wellness, connection, and enrichment throughout the journey of aging. Older adults throughout four counties in Southwest Florida rely on Senior Friendship Centers for help with nutrition, adult day services, social engagement, education, help in times of crisis, and so much more.The Development Events Manager is a full-time position with benefits including health, dental, vision, life insurance, a 403b with an employer match, generous PTO, paid holidays and more! Essential Functions: Development Events: Manage annual development event calendar, including fundraising, cultivation, and stewardship events. Work with department staff to develop event strategies, including types of events, budgets, and goals. Negotiate vendor contracts, including venue, catering, entertainment, audiovisual, photography, equipment, supplies, travel, signage, displays, and d--cor. Coordinate all event logistics, including contractual logistics, sponsorships, committee support, mission representation, special needs requirements, media, and event security. Consult with management/board/volunteer committees to determine objectives and requirements for development events, and manage volunteer committees for fundraising events. Collaborate with marketing and communications to design advertisements and promotional materials, and ensure media releases, social media posts, e-blasts, and calendar updates are current and accurate. Direct administrative details such as event budgets, dissemination of promotional materials, responses to inquiries, and event registration. Maintain event records, including financial details, registration, and seating charts with support from Development Coordinator. Review event contracts and invoices for accuracy and submit for approval. Conduct post-event evaluations and meetings toward improving future event production. Monitor event activities to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, resolve issues, and optimize participant satisfaction. Collaborate with development team to devise virtual or other alternatives, when traditional events are not feasible or desirable. Coordinate and facilitate electronic donation platforms as needed, including Raisers Edge, Constant Contact, Give Lively (text-to-give), and/or Givergy (auction). Donor Relations: Actively solicit and manage the Corporate Partner program by enrolling and renewing businesses, which includes event sponsorships and benefits. Develop Corporate Partner benefit package in collaboration with management. Coordinate with center and day services, and marketing and communications staff to ensure delivery of Corporate Partner program benefits. Develop and manage the event sponsor program for fundraising events. Prepare fundraising event sponsorship packages in collaboration with management. Actively solicit corporate event sponsors and ensure delivery of event sponsor benefits. Coordinate with development staff and volunteer committees to solicit individual event sponsors and ensure delivery of event sponsor benefits. Represent organization as required at select outside events to develop corporate sponsor, event sponsor, event committee, and other prospects. Other sponsor-related duties as assigned, which may include assisting non-center-based programs with event sponsorship applications. Organizational: Attend organization and outside events as required, including evenings and weekends. Maintain accurate digital files of development event and sponsor related information, and record donor activity in Raisers Edge. Attend staff meetings, training, and seminars as required. Must comply with all Senior Friendship Centers personnel policies. Must protect the safety and health of staff, volunteers, participants, and others by observing and following the organizations safety and incident policies. Competencies: Entrepreneurial, energetic, donor-centric team member. Highly organized individual with strong attention to detail. Superior customer service and interpersonal skills. Must exhibit diplomacy, tact, discretion, and professionalism. Superior project management skills, including ability to budget, provide accurate information and reports, plan and manage multiple projects simultaneously, set goals, establish priorities, and meet ambitious deadlines promptly. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and exercise critical thinking and sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Volunteers; including event chairs and committees assisting with event sponsorship and production goals. Education, Experience, Licenses, and Certifications: Required Minimum Qualifications: A minimum of five years of experience in event planning and/or a development-related field. Advanced computers skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and other applicable software as needed. Bachelors Degree or commensurate professional experience providing the requisite knowledge, skills, and ability for satisfactory performance in this position. Preferred Qualifications: Nonprofit experience is preferred. Familiarity with Raisers Edge, other Blackbaud products, or similar databases is preferred. Physical Demands: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk, working on a computer, and standing. Must be able to lift 30 pounds. Must be able to navigate various departments of a physical location. Additional eligibility requirements: Satisfactory clearance of a fingerprint-based, level II background screening and pre-employment substance abuse testing is required. Must be authorized to work in the United States.Job Type: Full-time
