Validus Senior Living is continuing to grow and as a part of this growth, we are seeking a Resident Engagement Director (also called an Activity Director) at our Inspired Living Community in Sarasota, FL.This Inspired Living Community is located at 1900 Phillippi Shores Drive, Sarasota, FL 34231.The Resident Engagement Director ensures the overall quality of life for resident engagement as outlined in Validus Senior Living philosophy and guiding principles as well as the Resident Programs Standards of Excellence.The Resident Engagement Director reports to the Executive Director, serving as a part of the community leadership team, ensuring residents are treated with respect and dignity and ensures quality care as residents healthcare needs change. The Resident Engagement Director hires, trains and leads Resident Engagement Coordinators and other direct care staff within the community to ensure all care commitments and regulations are met, and who will help us fulfill our commitment to our residents and their families.Each day, the Resident Engagement Director will be responsible for:

• Planing, developing and implementing creative and exciting Resident Programs to meet the individual needs and interests of the residents within the community, as well as through outside trips and events; including coordination of one-to-one programming for residents who cannot participate in a group setting
• Providing subject matter expertise to the management team regarding associate and resident engagement and quality of life and participating in the review of individual resident care plan
• Negotiating and managing community contracts in significant matters such as staffing, contract labor, vendors, and entertainers
• Participating in annual resident satisfaction survey initiatives and addresses resident complaints and grievances
• Responding appropriately to resident emergencies, using independent judgment for "in the moment" decisions, calling or contacting appropriate internal and external parties according to the established protocol
• Ensuring that Resident Programs meet all state, federal, and Company regulations
• Ensuring daily, weekly, and monthly Calendar of Events requirements are met and that specialty programs are scheduled according to the Resident Program Annual Master Calendar
• Coordinating the transportation of residents to and from events outside of the community, which may include driving a community vehicleThe ideal candidate will possess:
  • Bachelor's degree in Gerontology, Health Education, or related field
  • Preferably at least 3 years of direct programming experience related to memory care
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to satisfy background screening requirements
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Intermediate level of computer and technology competency, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and other Microsoft Windows applications
