Job Summary

DepartmentCardiac Progressive/ Acute Job Summary The Remote Telemetry Room monitors patients who are on medical, non-monitored units but whom the doctor feels would benefit from cardiac monitoring, perhaps from a remote history of an MI or some other cardiac related problem. We have cardiac monitor techs and RNs who share the care of the patient, offering a cardiac perspective, with the nurses on the floors where the patients are residing.Patient Population:

• Patients with a primary cardiac diagnosis requiring complex nursing care including but not limited to:
  • Continuous Cardiac Monitoring
  • Acute Abnormal Arrhythmias
  • Cardiac Medication and Cardiac Drips management including Insulin Drips
  • Pre/Post Cardiac Catheterization Procedures: Pacemaker, Angiography, Cardioversions, Ablations
  • Acute Myocardial Infarction
  • Pre Open Heart Critical Patients
  • Post Open Heart Surgical Patients ( bypass grafting, valve replacements/ repairs, septal repairs)
  • TAVR Procedure
  • Carotid Endarterectomy
  • Femoral Bypass Surgery, Thrombectomy, Angiogram, Angioplasty
  • Veraflow Wound Vac application and maintenance
  • Video Assisted and Robot Assisted Thoracic Surgeries
  • Chest Tubes
  • Acute Heart FailureSpecialized Training
    • Detailed, specialized, individual orientation plan
    • Cardiac Internship
    • Specialized training in basic arrhythmia and ACLS
    • Mentorship after orientation

      Required Qualifications
      
      - Require graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing, or otherwise meet the educational requirements as outlined by the Florida Board of Nursing.- Require thirty (30) hour IV certification.- Require basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.

      Required License and Certs
      
      BLS: Basic Life Support/CPRFL LPN: FL Licensed Practical NurseRequire thirty (30) hour IV certification. Monday- Friday Day Shift: 5am- 1:30pm Full Time is 5 Days a week, Part Time is 3 Days a weekNight Shift: 1pm- 1:30am Full time is 3 Days a week, Part Time is 2 Days a week Reputation. Community.
