If that sounds interesting, consider this Optometrist position with our client by putting your Optical Knowledge and Skills to use This independent contractor, 1099 role, offers full-tech support who handles Pre-Testing, Check-In, and more, allowing you to focus on patient care in a thriving retail setting. As an optometrist, your responsibility is to assess patients' vision health and provide necessary treatments or corrective measures to ensure optimal eye health and visual acuity. You will examine patients' eyes, diagnose vision problems or abnormalities, prescribe corrective lenses or medications, and refer patients to ophthalmologists or other healthcare professionals for specialized treatment when needed. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive eye exams and vision tests. Diagnose defects of the eye, such as myopia, astigmatism, and glaucoma. Provide personalized temporary and permanent solutions to visual imparities based on each patient's specific case and medical history. Prescribe medications, eyeglasses, and contact lenses. Advise patients on proper eye care techniques. Keep updated and accurate medical records for all patients. Advise patients on how to use and maintain their contact lenses. Co-management of patients with local Ophthalmologists. Requirements Degree in Optometry, or currently enrolled in your 4th year of Optometry school. In-depth understanding of eye conditions and vision defects. The ability to explain medical terms in a clear and concise manner. Patient focused. Note - to be considered for this position, you need to be a licensed optometrist, in the process of acquiring your Optometrist License, or currently enrolled in your 4th year of Optometry school.
