Job Summary and Qualifications Job Summary and Qualifications Certified Surgical Technologist (OR Tech) We are currently seeking students for a Certified Surgical Technologist.As a Certified Surgical or Operating Room Tech, you greet our patients, comfort them and transport them to the surgical suite. Once in the operating room, you will perform technical duties to assist in preparing and caring for our surgical patients. The training program will require traveling to Brandon for classwork for 10 weeks this will be followed by hands on clinical education in the Operating Room at your facility. This will be a 7 month program during which you will be paid as a FT employee. Hours for this program are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30. Typical duties you will learn to perform may include: ·Assemble supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures ·Prepare sterile instrument table for your procedures ·Assist in positioning patients and preparing patient’s skin for surgery ·Maintain sterile techniques and actively monitor situations that could lead to breaches in sterile technique ·Assist the surgical team during procedures which may include passing instruments, sponges and sutures ·Assist in monitoring patients ·Gather equipment for cleaning/sterilization after procedures Qualifications ·Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required ·HCA Employee in good standing for at least 6 months ·Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds ·Team player attitude ·Willingness and ability to learn at the college level What qualifications you will need: Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date Vocational School Graduate (TS-C) Tech in Surgery - Certified, or (CST) Certified Surgical Technologist Benefits HCA Florida Largo Hospital, offers a total rewards package that supports the health, life, career and retirement of our colleagues.
