Overview: The Wellness Manager aims to help our customers make decisions to increase their health and wellbeing while they are in the Wellness Department. They aim to be an advocate for health and assist customers on their wellness journey. They serve the customer directly and indirectly by keeping shelves stocked, displaying products in an appealing manner, assisting customers as needed and keeping the floors and store clean. The Wellness Manager is responsible for all aspects of the department including staff, sales, margins, and labor. Like all our employees, Wellness Managers are expected to adhere to Detwilers high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Responsibilities: Observe all store rules and Company Policies.Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance at all times and observe Company dress code.Must be able to adapt to ever-changing high volume demands of retail while working in a cross-functional team environment.Adhere to all local, state, and federal health and civil code regulations including full compliance with all applicable laws pertaining to safety, health, and packaging requirements.Assist in receiving and unloading of merchandise. Check and verify incoming shipments to ensure that items listed on vendor invoices are all delivered. Check products for quality, count, and condition.Merchandise department to maximize sales and specials.Keep all products or merchandise rotated in accordance with Company Policy and product code dates and always make use of the oldest products first (first in, first out).Handle damaged and spoiled products according to Company Policy and assist in controlling the level of waste.Reduce out-of-code merchandise daily for quick sale to maintain departments image for the highest quality and freshness.Keep manager or other designated personnel aware of low inventory conditions or excessive spoilage problems.Comply fully with all Safety Policies and Procedures.Ensure cleanliness of the store including floors, shelves and storage areas.Maintain sweep log to prevent falls. Remove hazardous debris and clean up water or liquid spills as needed.Stock shelves and present products in an appealing manner, according to department guidelines.Respond enthusiastically to customer inquiries and walk with customers to help them locate products theyre looking for.Build sales by interacting with customers and offering recommendations for things they could benefit from.Keep Store manager or other designated personnel aware of any service related issues, including but not limited to, customer complaints, pricing disputes, or out-of-stock products.Walk department regularly to ensure an organized, sanitary, and overall clean appearance at all times.Perform other duties and assignments as directed.Cross sell products to increase department sales.Train new Wellness employees, and cross-train other staff in the Wellness department.Oversee all aspects of the Wellness department including staff, sales, margins, and labor.Promptly solve any concerns in the department, or escalate to the Store Management if necessary.Resolve any customer concerns pertaining to the department.Monitor and control department costs and expenses, including proper ordering and inventory control, weighing procedures, controlling shrink, and discounting near-to-date products.Assist with the preparation of the weekly sales and labor projections for the department in order to maximize sales and profits; ensure department operations are within the labor percentage allowed.Walk department regularly to ensure an organized, sanitary, and overall clean appearance at all times.Manage the department staff including training, scheduling, coaching.Must maintain the highest level of customer service at all times; is looked upon as a leader and example to other associates.Take on additional projects or requests from Store Manager on an as-need basis.

Qualifications: Must be 18+ years of age.High school diploma or equivalency degree.Minimum one year retail experience is required.Must maintain the highest level of customer service at all times.Must have strong communication skills for dealing with customers.Must be able to take initiative when problems arise and have the flexibility to adapt to a variety of situations.Must have ability to multitask and stay organized.Must have basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures.Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.Must maintain a general interest in nutrition and supplementation.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThe physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this position or that a team member encounters while performing the essential functions of this position. Working Conditions Inside, Cooler, FreezerAbility to work in a fast-paced, potentially high-stress environment.Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and move bags/boxes of merchandise.
