Role and Responsibilities

Clinical Educator I/II

Position Summary:

The Clinical Educator is responsible for providing clinical expertise, delivering web-based and onsite product, education, and clinical courses with a focus on the adult learning, simulation methodology, educational tools and technology, consultancy, and clinical medicine. The clinical educator assists with the growth and development of the CAE Healthcare Academy through project management, product education (e.g., consulting and training) initiatives, and product delivery. The educator will function as an educational expert within the division to ensure initiatives are pedagogically sound. They assist other departments within CAE Healthcare as an internal clinical and educational expert and provides active participation in the overall growth and development of the division. Focus is on delivery of CAE Healthcare training courses and clinical content development.

Additionally, the educator may be tasked with overseeing projects. On occasion, the educator provides in collaboration with the Customer Support Team, technical support both remotely and onsite to ensure that the needs of the customer are met in a timely and satisfactorily fashion. The educator provides active participation in the overall growth and development of the organization.

  • This posting lists the requirements for a Clinical Educator I and a Clinical Educator II. Selected candidates will be hired at the level (I or II) that they are qualified for.
  • Please note that the Clinical Educator II position will have a higher level of responsibility and be expected to perform at an advanced level.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provides initial and continuing education activities for both clinical and nonclinical professionals.
  • Designs, develops, and provides systemwide, organizational, divisional or unit based educational activities using the principles of adult education that are specific to participant population.
  • Coordinates product education initiatives, including educational design, with others to ensure it is educationally sound.
  • Participates in product design, research and development requirements for new and emerging educational products.
  • Participates as required in major educational initiatives (e.g., Curriculum Integration Projects, Custom Solutions, TKS, etc.).
  • Responsible for project management of major initiatives (e.g., Learning Applications or program system designs) as assigned.
  • Participates in establishing and maintaining the educational requirements for all assigned product lines.
  • Participates in CAE Healthcare supported research activities, both externally and internally. (Clinical Educator II)
  • Provides consultation or customized work for clients. Serves on a committee or represents the organization on special projects. (Clinical Educator II)
  • Attends major education conferences to meet with customers, attend workshops, and can leverage emerging trends in the marketplace as assigned. Collaborates with customers in the development of educational programs. Participates as a team member in department work and in team meetings.
  • Applies Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint knowledge at an intermediate level of Microsoft application, Windows OS, Mac OS, and iOS. Utilizes a unique presentation tool. Enters data appropriately into Salesforce: entering all courses, classes, resources, program summary etc.
  • Seek opportunities to develop and implement interactive and engaging programs utilizing distant, blended, hybrid, and practical-based educational methods.
  • Works closely with Customer Support, Academy Coordinator, and Group Leader to ensure technical support is available and a trouble ticket is resolved swiftly when and if identified while conducting a training experience.
  • Works collaboratively with Customer Support if onsite and the system requires troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrates continuous learning and applies skill and knowledge to facilitate individual department and organizational goals/standards.
  • Maintains competency as an AVS and IS systems educator through participation in continuing education and departmental activities.
  • Stays current with regulations related to education and Information Technology.
  • Researches class materials, department ideas, and organizational/healthcare related topics. Applies research, new concepts/information, and best practices to program content or methodology.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Clinical Educator I

Required:

  • One year experience providing clinical education to adult learners in a clinical setting.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in related field, Master's Degree preferred
  • Relevant clinical certification or clinical licensure as an EMS professional, RT, RN, PA, NP, MD.
  • Advanced capabilities in basic computer applications.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and application.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to details.
  • Excellent public speaking skills; organizational skills, communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • Ability to interact with various types of Healthcare and Educational professionals.
  • Ability to travel as required, minimum travel 70-85%

Preferred:

  • Master's Degree in related field.
  • Experience in process mapping and developing workflow models.
  • Familiarity with a wide variety of simulation platforms.
  • Experience with simulation-based education and simulation center operations.
  • Experience in providing onsite or remote clinical education support to a customer.
  • Experience with conducting virtual (web-based) education using Zoom, WebEx, or similar platform.
  • CHSE or CHSOS certification.
  • 2 Professional clinical Instructor certifications.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

Clinical Educator II

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a major field of study. Master's Degree highly preferred.
  • 5+ years'experience with simulation-based education to include briefing, pre-, and debriefing.
  • 5+ years' experience providing clinical education to adult learners in a clinical setting.
  • 2+ years' experience with simulation center operations.
  • Advanced capabilities in basic computer applications
  • Relevant clinical certification or clinical licensure as an EMS professional, RT, RN, PA, NP, MD.
  • 2 Professional clinical Instructor certifications.
  • Experience in process mapping and developing workflow models.
  • Familiarity with a wide variety of simulation platforms.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and application.
  • CHSE or CHSOS certification.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to details.
  • Excellent public speaking skills; organizational skills, communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • Ability to interact with various types of Healthcare and Educational professionals.
  • Ability to travel as required, 70-85%
  • Master's Degree in related field highly preferred.
  • Experience in providing onsite or remote clinical education support to a customer.

General:

  • Complies with and enforces all applicable safety rules, regulations, and procedures both at CAE Healthcare and where ever representing CAE Healthcare (e.g., program site, trade show, etc)
  • Performs all duties in complete compliance with all legal and ethical standards
  • Maintains security of proprietary information
  • Performs other duties as assigned or as judgment and necessity dictates

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds (e.g., mannequins)
  • Able to sit for long periods of time utilizing computer systems
