The Float Pool Med Surg/PCU Team is a unit made up of
well-trained and experienced nurses who have the unique ability to
adjust, or "float," between several different Med Surg and PCU
areas across the nursing spectrum - often within the same shift.
Our Float Pool Team will coordinate total patient care through
assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluation. They will
participate in patient and family teaching. Provide leadership by
working cooperatively with health care team members in maintaining
standards for professional practice in the clinical setting. Also,
participate in quality improvement initiatives.

- Nursing Diploma or ASN required, BSN preferred
- Current Florida State RN license or compact state RN
- Current BLS through American Heart Association required
- Current ACLS preferred; required within 6 months of hire
- Minimum one year RN experience preferred but not required
- Customer service abilities including effective listening
skills. Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability
to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment
- Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing,
bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients
and/or equipment up to 50 pounds
