SUMMARY:
The Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce works to cultivate prosperity and quality of life through its member's businesses. POISITION OVERVIEW:

Promote and enhance the professional image and identity of The Chamber through all communication platforms. Develop, coordinate, and execute the Chamber's marketing and communications plan for the Chamber and all of its programs. All is accomplished by performing the following duties personally or collaborating with Chamber staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in creating, laying out, and maintaining marketing and promotional materials: Chamber, YPG, Leadership, CareerEdge, and OFA publications, brochures, flyers, newsletters, invitations, sales pieces, and other materials as needed
Assist in preparation and maintenance of effective marketing and communications plan
Maintain integrity of Chamber communications and visual branding style
Aid in writing, coordinating, and distributing editorial content for all email marketing, e-newsletters (Chamber, CareerEdge, Leadership, and YPG), and _The Chamber Buzz _newsletter articles
Create, post, and share all social media channels for Chamber and programs' brands
Coordinate public relations
Assist with set-up, production, and promotion of Chamber/program events including basic photography
Create Power Point presentations, as needed event announcements, invitations, programs, and signage for Chamber/ program events
Assist with Membership Services: Assist with Chamber programming and events
Help answer member questions and listen to member comments/suggestions
Help with coverage of walk-in traffic in the lobby area when needed
Assist with website maintenance: Update the home page with relevant news, events, and other pages as needed Upload photos - program events, staff, program councils, etc.

Upload member press releases to the Members News section
Upload Chamber program press releases to the Chamber News section
Assist members with questions regarding the website, job bank ads, press release tool and updating member profiles
Maintain updates to the additional, separate CareerEdge website Update each page with relevant information
Upload press releases and press coverage to the "In the Press" section
Maintain brand cohesiveness
Upload photos
Work with Programs Managers (CareerEdge, Leadership Sarasota, Opportunities For All, YPG) to plan, implement, and oversee programming and events
Assist with administrative duties for Chamber programs as needed, including but not limited to: Processing YPG applications YPG annual billing

Assisting with event setup, coverage, and breakdown
Collecting Leadership Sarasota applications
Involvement in CareerEdge training program applications
Envelope stuffing for various mailing needs
ADDITIONAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:

Coordinate preparation of _The Chamber Buzz_ (biweekly)
Assist with collection and placement of ads on the Chamber website and in Chamber publications
Create/update various documents and spreadsheets for internal Chamber use
Maintain a library of member/program logos
Track, collate, and maintain inventory of marketing materials
Maintain inventory of photo work, artwork, and film, and maintain marketing literature, archive files, and sample files
Complete special projects as assigned
Perform other duties as required or as assigned by supervisor
Design and produce various communications materials to support the vision of our organization
Support the creation, distribution, and maintenance of all print and electronic materials, including: Quarterly program e-newsletters for an external audience of members, partners, and supporters
Annual report for donors and other supporters
Marketing, development, and solicitation materials, as needed
Consistent and engaging postings on social media outlets, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube, as appropriate
Maintain and update the organizational website with event announcements, photos, news articles, newsletters, press releases, etc.
Press releases, as needed
Power Point presentations, as needed Event announcements, invitations, programs, and signage

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or related field and 1-3 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in desktop publishing, graphic design, writing, AP standards; public relations experience helpful.
Basic understanding of website maintenance desired.
Basic understanding of media and service purchasing practices desired.
Excellent communication skills; professional appearance and ability to effectively represent the Chamber and its brand image.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with members, volunteers, and the public.
Basic math and accounting skills.

Work Environment: This position is located at the Chamber building at 1945 Fruitville Road, Sarasota, Florida 34236.The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
