Job Description:
General Description:
First point of contact with customers. Receive and establish new
reported claims in the claim administration system. Possess the
appropriate level of knowledge to initiate the collection of
information to begin the claim investigation process. Responsible
for responding to general inquiries and directing more complex
requests to management. Individual may be asked to participate and
be deployed to a CAT site to assist our customers.
Responsible for the administrative support of the Claims
Department, including multiple workflow processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Takes First Notice of Loss and Claims Department phone calls.
Demonstrates productive time management, along with the ability to
handle multiple tasks while maintaining availability throughout the
day to receive and respond to all phone calls. Able to perform an
expanded FNOL process, to encompass the Initial Contact collection
of loss detail from the Insured and/or Representative.
Maintains and updates claim files and work queues within the
Universal claim system, and performs required claim office support
functions.
Sorts, matches and processes incoming mail/fax communication
through the claim administration system.
Communicates clearly and professionally with internal and external
customer(s), through telephone and/or written correspondence,
regarding all aspects of the claims process, providing highly
effective customer service. Efficiently directs customer calls to
the correct person.
Assigns / transfers claims to the appropriate claims handler and/or
external service provider.
Performs other duties as required.

Education and / or Experience:
High School Degree, GED and/or general business experience.
Strong verbal and written communications skills with attention to
detail.
Must be able to work in a collaborative atmosphere.
Possesses a general working knowledge in the use of Microsoft
Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Customer service oriented, with demonstrated ownership attitude and
customer centric response to all assigned tasks.
Licenses and / or certifications:
Successfully acquire Adjuster licenses (where applicable), for each
state serviced, within 60 days following the 90 day probationary
period, starting from the date of hire.
