SUMMARYThe QC Inspector is responsible for the daily inspection of assigned on-hand inventory to assure the highest outbound quality for all customers.ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIESAs directed by QA Manager or QC Supervisor, conduct daily inspection of assigned on-hand inventory.Document any issues identified in the inspection process and escalate to QA Manager or QC Supervisor to determine proper course of action.Rework any distressed product to assure only highest quality product is shipped.When directed by QA Manager or QC supervisor, support the inbound inspection processWhen assigned by QA Manager or QC supervisor, process daily returns to determine items that can successfully be returned to inventory.Perform all duties in accordance with HACCP food safety & Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures, as appropriate for location.Observe all Company safety policies and procedures.Perform all job duties and responsibilities in an ethical manner and in accordance with Company policies and procedures.Perform other duties and projects as assigned by management.COMPETENCIESAble to learn the standards for fresh produce good delivery.Able to successfully complete Level I QC Training.Good attention to detail.Able to safely operate a forklift and similar power equipment; ability to obtain appropriate certification to operate forklift.Good interpersonal and customer service skills.Able to work effectively in an open, dynamic and collaborative environment.Good initiative and problem-solving skills; ability to resolve issues skillfully, appropriately, and in a timely manner.Strong sense of urgency while remaining calm under pressure.Good computer skills, including MS Excel, Word, and Outlook; able to learn and adapt to new computer applications, system upgrades and other technology as necessary.High regard for safety.Able to develop and maintain effective internal/external working relationships with a diverse group of individuals; a team player.KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTSHigh School diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum 1 year of produce experience in an inspection or quality control enviroment. Good knowledge of inventory control processes and of proper manufacturing & distribution warehouse organization. Knowledge of receiving, shipping, inventory and material handling procedures. Previous forklift and pallet jack experience preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills useful. WORKING CONDITIONSRegularly exposed to warehouse environment: while performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving industrial powered equipment and occasionally to moving mechanical parts. The employee is regularly required to walk and stand (up to eight (8) hours per day); use hands to handle or grasp, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee may be occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to twist, turn, bend, sit, climb or balance. The employee must be able to lift, push and pull up to 60 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee is regularly exposed to moderate to extreme cold and wet conditions in a warehouse setting and may be subject to moderate noise levels.Occasionally in an office setting; occasionally required to stand; walk; sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must possess a commitment to work a varied, flexible schedule to accomplish tasks and meet business demands, including evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
