The Refrigeration Technician will perform general service repair, installation and maintenance of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment including, but not limited to; split system air handlers, condensers, cooling towers, pumps, packaged rooftop, fans, walk in coolers and freezers, reach in coolers/freezers, display coolers, ice machines and ice cream/shake machines.

Job Responsibilities:

Perform routine maintenance on all types of mechanical equipment including filter replacements, belt replacements, greasing, and performance evaluations including recording all temperatures, pressures, sub cooling and superheat, amp draws etc.
Trouble shoot, service and repair as needed all types of mechanical equipment.
Be able to clearly and professionally communicate to customers any issues that are discovered during maintenance procedures and or repairs that may be required.
Be able to communicate to the office any additional work that may be required or will require a follow up proposal.
Be able to give direction and oversee the actions of an apprentice if under your direct supervision.
Be able to accurately survey and scope out work that needs to be quoted and have a good understanding of the time it should take to make repairs.
Overtime and being on call are required.
Keep yourself abreast of new technology as they emerge.
Perform all the required duties while adhering to the company safety policies and regulations.

Minimum Requirements:

Have a solid understanding of air conditioning, heating and HVAC and refrigeration systems with a Technical College Degree or equivalent Trade School Diploma.
A minimum of five (5) years field experience.
Must be competent in the proper installation and service practices for refrigeration cycle electrical / wire diagrams duct systems dx piping chill water piping and a good understanding of controls and their operations.

Safety Awareness:
Executes all tasks in a safe manner and utilize safe work practices as appropriate. Will wear protective equipment when entering areas requiring same (Hard Hats, Work Boots, etc.) Undergo DPAS training necessary for travel to worksites (if applicable). Will train on OSHA 10, 30 as appropriate.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to see well (either naturally or with correction); use hands, fingers, arms and legs fully; stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl; climb and balance on ladders and scaffolds; stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
