Function & Responsibility Responsible for supporting quality processes within the facility; which includes analyzing information, and reporting research results in support of quality systems. Actively communicate both verbally and in writing any corrective actions or quality issues. Note: there are three focus areas for Quality Technicians; Receiving Inspection, In-process Inspection, and Final Inspection. Techs are expected to be able to perform the duties of all focus areas, however they are typically assigned to a specific focus area of which they are expected to take ownership and continually improve processes and methods. Primary Responsibilities: Utilize Non-Conformance Reporting and Corrective Action Systems as required. Inspect and Test; document, and report findings. Read specifications and part prints and interpret requirements including, but not limited to, dimensional, physical, functional, and visual requirements. Ensure calibration and maintenance is performed on inspection equipment. Perform product identification and traceability activities, when required. Work with other company personnel to resolve inspection questions. Document information electronically in various databases and other internal programs. Conduct various tests and quality checks on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products. Ensure that all products have been tested and fall within standards, measured to specifications and within tolerances, readability of labels, etc. Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures. Comply with all Quality, Safety, and work rules. Perform and document First Article Inspections when required. Audit, monitor, and report on compliance to internal and external Quality System requirements. Scan and file incoming material documentation. Perform daily inventory cycle count and audit in stockroom. Perform follow up for SCARs. (Receiving Inspection focus) Process RMAs through Step 1. (Receiving Inspection focus) Gather information and provide certifications and other related documentation to customers, as required. Process RMAs from Step 2 to completion. (Final Inspection focus) Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required Able to: Skillfully use standard inspection gages, tools, and methods. Understand root cause analysis to promote continuous improvement. Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and suppliers. Work with basic mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Effectively use the ERP system and standard office software programs. Communicate effectively with all levels of personnel. Minimum Qualifications At least five (5) years of experience using standard inspection equipment and methods in a manufacturing environment. Blueprint reading and interpretation.
